INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A State Fair stage collapse survivor, Andrea Vellinga, underwent surgery Friday morning.
Vellinga suffered a severe brain injury after the collapse of the State Fair stage in 2011.
Doctors hope this surgery will be Vellinga's final surgery to replace a portion of her skull. Vellinga developed an infection during the first two attempts at the surgery and the bone flap had to be removed.
Vellinga says she is ready to get her helmet off and confident the surgery will work this time.

For the past six months, doctors have been giving her painful saline injections in her head, to help stretch her scalp.
Vellinga has already undergone numerous surgeries and is currently going through rehab.
