INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - It's full speed ahead for the Star Trek convention in Indianapolis.
Put on by Starbase Indy – The 17th Generation, the convention offers everything from meeting cast members to buying collectables.
One of the exhibits is from real space exploration, and honors Neil Armstrong. That exhibit also features a rock from the Moon.
“We wanted to honor Neil Armstrong because he is a great American hero and great astronaut,” said Robert Jackson, security member. “So we asked NASA if we can have the Moon rock. Through all of the security clearances and protection for the rock and while the process is concluded, they granted us the moon rock.”
The exhibit had newspaper clippings and a similar suit worn by Armstrong that people could try on and take pictures with.
The convention continues Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Marriott East located at 7202 E. 21st St.
