Police ramp up St. Patty's Day patrols

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Local police officers will conduct sobriety checkpoints and DUI patrols over the St. Patrick's Day weekend.

Officers will be activley patrolling areas for drunk drivers Friday night into Sunday night.

Officers from IMPD, the Speedway Police Department, Cumberland Police Department, Lawrence Police Department, and Beech Grove Police Department will be participating in the checks.

The project "Operation Pull Over," is made possible through a grant received through the Governor's Council on Impaired and Dangerous Driving.
