INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Some strong winds and scattered storms are moving through the area Sunday and will continue well into the night.
A wind advisory has been issued for most of Central Indiana, lasting until 11 p.m. Wind gusts could reach between 40 and 50 mph.
Storms do have the potential to increase in severity throughout the evening. Damaging wind, hail and isolated tornadoes remain the biggest threats.
Officers in Wayne County say they responded to two accidents that were caused by strong winds. A horse trailer carrying two horses disconnected from the vehicle carrying it at the 149 mile marker on I-70. No one was injured but the horses were taken to the Wayne County Fairgrounds to be checked out.
Another accident involved a camper that tipped over on its side at the 153 mile marker on I-70.
State Police in Lafayette say construction signs were blowing over by State Road 2 on I-65 throughout the day.
Trees were reported down in Brown and Bartholomew, Tippecanoe and Morgan counties.
Officers in Hendricks County say wind was setting off alarms in buildings. Officers also reported large trees had fallen.
Just after 8 p.m. Sunday, Indianapolis Power and Light Company reported 889 residents were without power and Duke Energy listed 4,864 outages.
