INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - 24-Hour News 8 has learned an Indianapolis attorney and his wife are being sued in connection with the ongoing Tim Durham Fair Finance bankruptcy case. More than 5,000 investors lost more than $200,000,000 in Fair Finance investments.

According to court documents filed by Brian Bash, the bankruptcy trustee in the Fair Finance case, Stephen Plopper and his wife Linda defaulted on a loan of $250,000 and haven't paid any of the more than $125,000 in interest.

According to the lawsuit, the Plopper's got the loan from Fair Finance in November of 2003. It was originally due a year later. But in October of 2004, the two were given an extension to pay the loan until November of 2006.

The loan was secured by the couple's Carmel home. But, according to the lawsuit, the two never paid any of the principal. The lawsuit also says the two agreed to pay more than $1,600 a month in interest but never did.

24-Hour News 8 has also learned, the IRS filed a tax lien against the Plopper's for more than $147,000 in back taxes.
