INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Hundreds of supporters gathered Saturday for “Guns Across America,” a peaceful rally held to send a positive message about gun ownership.
Rally goers gathered to demonstrate peacefully and send a message that they oppose any further gun control laws or legislation.
The rally was held at the corner of 38th Street and Fall Creek Parkway, just meters from the Indy 500 Gun and Knife Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
A record-breaking crowd waited in line as long as four hours Friday for the first day of the Indy 1500 Gun and Knife Show at the State Fairgrounds.
The show continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
As 24-Hour News 8 reported on Friday , a recent rush of gun buyers is putting pressure on police as they process an avalanche of applications for gun permits.
Wednesday, President Barack Obama unveiled a $500 million gun violence package. His proposal to curb gun violence in two decades would press Congress to pass universal background checks and bans on military-style assault weapons and high capacity ammunition magazines, according to the Associated Press’ article .
