INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Firefighters were investigating as many as four overnight fires that are suspicious and may be connected.
All the fires broke out within a rough 20-minute period in the same area on the city’s east side. Arson investigators were sent to the areas, but fire officials say they’re still working to determine if the blazes were intentionally set and if they’re connected.
"I can't speak to that at this time. We haven't fully investigated this at this time," Batallion Chief James McNair said. "So we won't know until we have completed an investigation whether or not they're random acts, separate or any links."
At 4:38 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters were sent to the 300 block of North Belville Avenue for a garage fire. Shortly after, there was a small fire in the 500 block of North Keystone Avenue. Two other fires were in the area of North Walcott and East New York streets.
One of the fires in the 1700 block of New York Street is believed to have been started by something being thrown at a wall.
No injuries were reported.
