BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WISH) - A teen party in Beech Grove may have turned violent this weekend. Now Beech Grove Police is investigating allegations of rape.
The police report details what the victim says happened to her and what police found inside the home where that party happened.
The victim, a 14 year old girl, attends Beech Grove High School; So do the teenage boys listed as suspects in the police report.
24-hour News 8 spoke with Beech Grove High School Principal, Steve Cox about the incident, "We found that out this morning we've been working with her parents on her educational stuff, being able to get her books that kind of stuff in case she isn't going to go to school for a few days and also Mr. Hurley our assistant principal is going to meet with the students that were allegedly involved in this."
According to the police report the victim reported receiving a text message at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday. It was from a teenage boy telling her about a birthday party. The victim met that boy at about 7:00 p.m. at South Grove Park in Beech Grove. They then went to a nearby home where there were several teens having a party.
The victim says the boys at the party "took her clothes off and had sex with her.” She went home crying at about 10:00 p.m. Sunday. Her mother called police and the investigation started.
24-Hour News 8 spoke to Capt. Robert Mercuri with the Beech Grove Police Department, "As in all these cases, Child Protective Services has been made aware and the investigation is continuing along with them so the Marion County crime lab was contacted to go to the scene and there was also some items taken from the scene with consent of the home owner."
While detectives work with the prosecutor's office on the case, Beech Grove school administrators will work with the students involved. So far, they do not face disciplinary action.
"Not at this point in time because as far as what we know this all happened outside of school obviously on a Sunday afternoon, evening. None of them were athletes that wouldn't affect that with code of conduct. We are concerned about that stuff being brought into school all the kids we are concerned about obviously and trying to find out what the truth is and take appropriate action." Said Principal Cox.
Investigators collected evidence at the home that included marijuana found in the teenage boy's bedroom and DNA evidence at the hospital where the victim was taken.
Because two of the accused teenagers are 16, they could face adult felony charges in this case.
So far, no formal charges have been filed. However, investigators are working with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
