INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - It was a dream come true for 6 year-old Peyton Medlin.

Peyton has been in and out of hospitals all her life.

Before her second birthday, Peyton was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease, a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy that is shutting down her vital organs.

“What ends up happening is you eventually have organ failure and deprivation of energy within the body itself,” said Peyton’s Mom Julie Medlin.

Last week, Peyton was all excited to see her favorite character Pinkalicious at Beef and Boards Dinner Theater, but Peyton became very sick and had to be rushed to the ER.

When the cast and crew of Pinkalicious heard Peyton's Story, they wanted to surprise her at home

Sarah Ledtike, who plays Pinkalicious, was touched by Peyton’s Story.

“I heard about Peyton after one of our shows I heard her story and I had to meet her,”

"We firmly believe she is teaching others about Mitochondrial Disease. We will be in awe of how many lives Payton has touched and continues to touch,” remarked Julie Medlin
