INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A local driver told police he was slapped by another motorist for texting while driving.

The driver told police he was texting and driving near the 2400 block of Lafayette Road when a woman in a nearby vehicle flagged him down and yelled at him.

The driver told police the woman's vehicle then swerved in front of his vehicle and he was forced to brake. The woman then told him to pull over. The two began to yell and curse at each other and then the woman smacked him in the face, the driver told police.

Police spoke with a witness on scene who told them that the texting driver had swerved into the woman's lane several times. The witness told police that the driver then followed the woman to her workplace and began to curse at her.

Police say they did not observe any injuries to the man's face or damage to either vehicle.
