MARION, Ind. (WISH) - Thirteen people were arrested for various charges at two illegal bars over the weekend.
Excise police officers searched two locations after receiving complaints that the locations were selling alcoholic beverages without the required permits. One Nation, 3016 S. Washington, and The Scooter Club (also known as The Social Club), 3104 S. Washington, were both served with search warrants early Sunday morning.
According to a press release from the Indiana Excise Police, a total of 13 people were arrested as a result of these investigations. Charges included maintaining a common nuisance, dealing unauthorized beverages, and unauthorized dealing and sale of alcoholic beverages without a permit. Officers also seized two handguns, alcohol, suspected illegal drugs, and an undisclosed amount of US currency.
