Thousands partake in arthritis run
WISH-TV and MyINDY-TV 23 sponsored annual event

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - More than 3,000 people took part in the annual Jingle Bell Run and Walk for arthritis Saturday morning.
Participants of the event dress in costumes every year.
Saturday morning, 24-Hour News 8 saw everything from festive hats and Rudolph noses to jingle bells and candy cane stockings.
Participants had the option to run or walk a 5K or 10K through the streets of Indianapolis.
WISH-TV and MyINDY-TV 23 were proud sponsors of the event.
The event is held to support those with arthritis and to raise funds for The Arthritis Foundation.
"Money raised from this event will go back to funding research and education opportunities to try to educate people more about the disease and how they can fight it,” said Tammy Sander with The Arthritis Foundation.
In Indiana alone it's estimated that arthritis and other chronic joint symptoms affect 1.4 million adults and more than 6,000 children.
