Thousands watch Freedom Blast Fireworks

INDIANAPOLIS, IN.(WISH) - Thousands waited patiently for this year's Freedom Blast Fireworks show downtown Wednesday evening.

The fireworks were launched promptly at 10 p.m.

North Street between Meridian and Pennsylvania closed at 11 a.m. for day time festivities that were part of Freedom Blast. 

Organizers had an kids area that included a bounce house and games.

The one block area surrounding the Regions Bank Tower closed at 9:30 pm to prepare for the fireworks.

There were extra firefighters and police officers to keep the area safe.
