INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - More than 20 tow trucks drove around Interstate 465 Wednesday night in honor of two men who died serving Indianapolis.

The event was called Loop for Life.

Drivers lapped I-465 to pay tribute to Private Tim McCormick and Specialist Cody Medley – the emergency responders killed when a car struck their ambulance this past weekend.

24-Hour News 8 spoke with the event's organizer who said he just wanted to show his appreciation for their service.

“We work with police, fire and ambulance every day all around the United States,” said Greg Harper, Loop for Life Organizer. “You know, they would protect us. And, if it was us, they would do the same thing.”

Harper says it wasn't hard to get others involved – all it took was a few phone calls.
