IUPUI's campus to undergo major change

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The IUPUI University Place Conference Center and Hotel will soon go under a major transformation to better accommodate students, the university announced on Friday.
The university stated that the facility will be transformed into a multi-use facility that will provide student housing for 560 students and 30,000 square feet of classroom space.
It will also provide the campus with its first student dining hall that will seat 470.
The conversion will begin December 2012, with classrooms available for use in January 2013 and residential occupancy expected in the fall 2013, according to the university.
The transformation will employ approximately 50 IU employees and contract workers while retainng the existing Faculty Club and restaurant.
