Power restored after transformer fire

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Power and Light has restored power Thursday morning to the city's east side after a transformer caught fire.

IPL says 2,285 customers were without power around 5:50 a.m. The power was restored around 7:40 a.m.

Dennis Jarrett, spokesperson for Warren Township Schools, says all schools in the district are on a two hour delay due to outages in the area.
