INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Two people were hurt in a crash Wednesday afternoon that tied up traffic at the intersection of 30th Street and College Avenue.
Indianapolis Fire Department was called to the scene when a teen girl was found trapped inside an SUV involved in the crash, which happened just before 2 p.m. Wednesday. The 17-year-old was freed from the GMC Jimmy within half an hour and was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in good condition, IFD said.
The GMC had been westbound on 30th Street when it collided with a Dodge Ram van that was headed south on College Avenue. The GMC then hit a building at the intersection, but there was only exterior damage.
A passenger in the van, Kimberly Thompson, 41, was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital in good condition, IFD said.
Two other teens and the drive in the GMC were uninjured. The accident is under investigation by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, IFD said.
