INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Two people were sent to the hospital Sunday morning after a fire broke out on the 600 block of West St. Clair.
The Indianapolis Fire Department arrived to the apartment fire just after 11:15 p.m. and found light smoke showing in the hallway of the apartment.
The fire was under control in 14 minutes.
One occupant was removed from the apartment where the fire originated and was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
Firefighters discovered another resident on the third floor suffering from minor smoke inhalation. She was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital for further treatment.
Only one apartment unit was destroyed in the fire. No other tenants were displaced.
The fire is currently under investigation.
