INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officials say a man and a woman were shot at a gas station on the city's northwest side early Monday.

Around 2:20 a.m., police were called to the Speedway gas station in the 3400 block of Lafayette Road on a report of a person shot.

Officers arrived and confirmed a man and a woman had been shot. Both were taken to area hospitals in stable condition.

Police at the scene said it started with a crash. They think the shooter hit the woman's car before firing a gun.

The man who was shot was found in a third car nearby.

Police say they are looking for a suspect last seen driving a black or dark blue 2002 Chevy with heavy front end damage.

Investigators say they believe the shooter and the victims all know each other.

Police urge anyone that may have information on this incident to call detectives at 317-327-3475.

Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477.
