INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Wayne Township Firefighters rescued two dogs from a home that was on fire early Sunday morning.
Crews were called to 1519 Western Drive around 1:30 Sunday morning on the report of a house on fire.
When they arrived, they found heavy fire through the roof.
Crews attacked the fire and brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes.
When firefighters searched the home, they found 2 dogs.
Crews rescued the dogs and treated one of them for smoke inhalation.
None of the four family members living at the house were home at the time of the fire.
Investigators say the house has heavy smoke and fire damage.
The family has reported they have no insurance.
Wayne Township victims assistance is working with the family to provide temporary needs.
No firefighters were injured and no issues with frozen hydrants were reported.
Investigators were attempting to determine the cause of the fire.
