INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Metropolitan Police are investigating a shooting in downtown Indianapolis.

Police were called to the Circle Center Mall around 9 p.m. Saturday night where they say the first victim was shot just outside of the mall. Officers at the scene told 24-Hour News 8 that the 17-year-old was shot in the foot. He was transported to the hospital in good condition. Police found the suspect and the weapon involved in the shooting.

About 20 minutes later, a 15-year-old was shot in the arm and then in the chest near Panera Bread. Police report the teen was in “serious to critical condition” and was rushed to Wishard Hospital.

At this point in the investigation, detectives are not sure if the two shootings are related.

Police say the gunshots rang out as a large number of teens were leaving the mall.

Saturday's shooting investigation marks the second shooting downtown involving teenagers following this summer's shootings during the Indiana Black Expo. Police say the IBE shootings were gang related. There is no word yet if police believe gang activity sparked Saturday's shootings.
