INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The police chief and lieutenant at the University of Indianapolis Police Department are no longer employed by the university, effective Friday.
After a week-long internal review of management issues in the University of Indianapolis Police Department, the decision was reached.
The university says the department has an ample roster of full-time patrol officers and part-time officers, ensuring that regular 24-hour security coverage will continue without interruption.
Sergeant Hailey Padgett-Riley has been named acting chief as a search begins for new leadership.
Padgett-Riley is an eight-year veteran of the campus police force.
The university says, as always, the safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors is their top priority.
The university plans no other statement on this issue.
