INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - IMPD officer David Bisard is accused of driving drunk crashing into a group of motorcyclists killing one and injuring two others.

But while the case continues to play out in court on Saturday the 2 living victims, Kurt Weekly and Mary Mills, got on their bikes and rode by the crash site.

It was a powerful moment; around 70 motorcycles with 2 riders on each bike passed by the memorial site near 56 th street and I-465.

The riders honored Eric Wells who was killed in the crash. A biker leading the pack pulled over in the intersection to stop traffic so everyone had their chance to pay tribute.

The living victims Kurt Weekly and Mary Mills have spent time recovering from their injuries and when they were healthy enough to get back to riding they organized the event.

While the goal was to remember what happened, they also wanted to say thank you to the community.

“People are making a good out of a bad and the proceeds are going not to Kurt and Mary Mills, they're actually sacrificing for the good of something else,” explains the owner of Whit’s Inn David Martin, who is hosting the event.

The proceeds from Saturday's ride are going to the Julian Center and some other local charities. The event started and ended at Whit's Inn where the riders were able to enjoy some food and entertainment.
