INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - In Indiana, folks can't throw away certain electronic items that will end up in landfills.
On Wednesday, Hoosiers can get rid of old electronics, like cell phones, computer monitors, TVs and refrigerators.
The airport has partnered with RecycleForce for the day.
Donations are requested for accepting certain items:
Once the items are dropped off, RecycleForce takes the electronic waste and recyclables, deconstructs them, recycles the materials and disposes of the waste safely and cleanly.
Scrap metals and other reusable materials are sold to fund for job training programs and employment opportunities for formerly incarcerated men and women to support their re-entry back into society.
You can drop your recyclables off from 7 to 10 a.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Indianapolis International Airport employee parking lot (adjacent to the cell phone lot).
