Perhaps some of the most touching tributes were from the fans. Some got a chance to meet him, others didn’t.
Yet, they all will leave a lasting impression on his family.

Among the group celebrating Wheldon's life, Jo Skinner, a nurse from St. Vincent. “His visits to the hospital with the children were just phenomenal and we looked forward to it,” she said.
Randy Moore, a member of the military, said he appreciated Wheldon’s appreciation of those who serve.
Everyone attending felt connected to the champion in some way. That connection will help those grieving move on
“He was such a great ambassador for this sport, Kim Tyger said. “It’s what he loved. He'd want it to go on. He wants everyone to pick up and get back in their cars and go.”
