INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An accidental fire has left a 53-year-old woman dead Friday night on the 1200 block of Kappes Street.
After extinguishing the flames, fire crews found the victim’s body inside the home. The woman’s live in boyfriend was at work when the fire happened.
It is estimated the fire caused $15,000 worth of damages.
Police have not released the woman’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
“Investigators are just working their case to eliminate all of their possibilities,” said Captain Rita Burris of the Indianapolis Fire Department.
It could take weeks to determine the exact cause fire. Crews on the ground say there were no working smoke detectors in the home.
