INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Athenaeum president Cassie Stockamp has pledged to brave near-freezing temps to raise money for the Athenaeum Building’s preservation.

Stockamp will sit on the roof of the building for one week.

This act is in homage to a similar fundraiser held 20 years ago, when 22-year-old David Willkie sat on the building’s roof for two months. Wilkie raised $800,000 to save the building from the wrecking ball.

Stockamp is offering folks the chance to take part with daily events:

7:30 a.m.: Yoga on the roof

Noon: Lunch catered with local food and entertainment provided by local musicians

This fundraiser leads up to the 4th annual GermanFest.
