Woman shot dead in alley

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Lavenna Shorter, 42, died early Saturday morning from a gunshot wound to the head after an argument with her boyfriend 38-year-old Oscar hall escalated, according to police.

It happened around 2:00 a.m. in an alley on the 900 block of Sherman Avenue near 10th street. According to police, the woman’s daughter saw the whole thing and called police.

When paramedics arrived the woman was already dead. Hall fled the scene before officers arrived.

A description of the suspect’s car was given. Soon after, police found the man in the 9400 block of East 43rd street inside a residence.

He has been arrested for her murder. The motive is unknown. The family has been notified.
