Woman stabbed in chest during dispute in critical condition

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police say a domestic dispute ended with a woman being stabbed in the chest early Thursday morning in Indianapolis.

According to IMPD, around 4 a.m, police received a call from a woman who stated her ex-boyfriend had stabbed her in the chest during an argument.

When police arrived on the scene in the 1400 block of East New York Street, they found a woman in her mid-40s on her porch, suffering from stab wounds to the chest.

The woman told police that her ex-boyfriend stabbed her, then fled the scene and that she was having trouble breathing. 

Medics took the woman to Wishard Memorial Hospital where she is listed in critical condition, police report.

According to police, awhile later, they found the man, also in his mid-40s and took him into custody for questioning.
