INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A woman accused of ingesting rat poison to try to kill her unborn baby was in court Tuesday and will be again on Wednesday.
Bei Bei Shuai is facing murder and feticide charges and appeared in court Tuesday for a judge to determine whether she could be released on bond. Tuesday afternoon, court officials said Shuai's hearing would reconvene at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Shuai’s child was born alive but died three days later. Lawyers argue that attempted suicide isn’t a crime in Indiana.
