INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Work has begun on homes for Indianapolis veterans in need.

City, state and federal officials broke ground at 11 a.m. Thursday at the future site of Lincoln Apartments.

The housing is being built in an area west of downtown, on Holmes Avenue near Michigan Street. The apartments will house 75 of the city's homeless veterans.

It's a $12 million project.
