INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Metropolitan Board of Zoning confirms it denied permission for a Broad Ripple parking garage in a unanimous decision.

The plan was to build a parking garage in the 6200 block of College Avenue that would include retail space and 350 parking spots. But then, concerns over its location in a flood plain stalled the plans .

Tuesday, the zoning board shut down the plans indefinitely.

The developer behind the plan said it would regroup.

"We are disappointed but will not be deterred, said Ersal Ozdemir, CEO of Keystone Group. “Broad Ripple Village residents, both businesses and homeowners, have been asking for a garage for several years. We understand how important it is to them and will be regrouping, given the decision today, to determine our next steps."
