INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Zoo is celebrating a new addition: a baby African elephant born Thursday night.

The birth capped a 22-month pregnancy for Ivory, a 30-year-old African elephant who came to the zoo in 1984.

The calf weighed in at 244 pounds. Zoo officials say she is healthy and strong.

She is the sixth elephant born at the Indianapolis Zoo, all by artificial insemination.

The Zoo will be accepting name suggestions through its Facebook page .
