INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - At the Indianapolis Zoo, African painted dogs are contained within a glass enclosure. The wild dogs are known to hunt in packs.

At the Pittsburgh Zoo, the spotted dogs mauled a 2-year-old boy to death. This happened when the two year old boy fell over a rail after his mother lost her grip. The boy fell into the wild dog pit where he was instantly attacked.

Pittsburgh Police are still investigating the boy's death. Now, safety measures at the East Coast zoo are being questioned.

At the Indianapolis Zoo, safety precautions are noticeable . Barriers are in place and there are several hidden cameras placed around the zoo.

The security measures at Indianapolis Zoo are not just for the visitors, but also the animals.

"There is no balancing act. It is safety with everything we do," said Jon Glesing
