TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - State Road 25 is back open after a fatal crash involving a van and a combine in Tippecanoe County.
Indiana State Police confirmed three people were killed in the collision.
It happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of State Road 25 and County Road 800 South.
Witnesses told investigators the combine was headed down 800 South but didn't come to a complete stop at 25. Authorities said the driver of the combine didn't see the van as he crossed the road.
Three people in the van were killed and three others sent to the hospital. The driver of the combine was not injured.
Deputies said drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors, but toxicology results are pending. No citations have been issued, but the crash remains under investigation.
