FRANKFORT, Ind. (WISH) - A convenience store clerk was hurt in a struggle with an armed robber Sunday night, police said.
Frankfort Police Department was called to the Tobacco Road gas station at 1795 W. Ind. 28 at about 10 p.m. Sunday on a report of an armed robbery.
The clerk said the suspect, armed with a handgun and a knife, had demanded money, then had come behind the counter where the two of them struggled. The thief dropped the gun – which was later determined to be a pellet gun - and ran outside with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The clerk then followed the robber and they struggled again outside, and the clerk suffered a knife wound to the face. The robber dropped some of the money and ran away.
The suspect is described as a white man about 5-foot-8, last seen wearing a mask and black clothing.
Anyone with information should call Frankfort Police Department Detective Eric Booth at 765-654-4277 x 229 or call the tips line at 765-654-6480.
