LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The McCutcheon High School Athletic Department released a statement Friday afternoon, regarding a former McCutcheon Maverick, Kyle Osborn, who is reported to have been killed in Afghanistan. Osborn was a member of the U.S. Army.

The United States Department of Defense has not confirmed Osborn's death.

McCutcheon Athletic Director Ryan Walden issued a statement on behalf of the Maverick Nation.

"The McCutcheon Athletic Department is saddened by the loss of a great Maverick, outstanding leader from our community, and a true American," said Walden. "We are thankful for everything that Kyle has done for our community and country, and cherish the memories from when he wore a McCutcheon uniform."
