MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - Hundreds of Ball State University students camped out all night to get tickets for the campus visit by talk show hosts David Letterman and Oprah Winfrey later this month.

Students began lining up Friday evening outside Emens Auditorium. The Star Press reports the line wrapped around the auditorium and the library by the time ticket distribution started Saturday morning.

School officials say students claimed all the free tickets to the 3,300-seat auditorium for the Nov. 26 event during which Ball State graduate Letterman will interview Winfrey. Some students toward the end of the line got tickets for another auditorium where the event will be televised.

Ball State spokesman Tony Proudfoot says the school hasn't seen such interest for a campus event before and estimated 2,000 people were in line.
