MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) - Ball State University issued an all clear just before 9:30 a.m. after earlier reports that there may have been a man carrying a gun on campus.
BSU warned students around 8 a.m. Monday to stay in a safe place after a man with a gun was reported north of Bracken Library.
University police found no one with a weapon and made no arrests. The campus was secured and students were told they could return to normal activity.
An earlier statement on the university's website said the person "had no discernible threatening behavior" and was described as a white man with a medium built, between 5-foot-2 and 5-foot-5, wearing dark pants and a light jacket. He was seen walking eastbound on the north side of the library. It appeared he had a handgun in his left hand.
University officials said the report was credible, and wasn't a hoax.
It's the university's first day back to classes after spring break.
