ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) - Police in Anderson say a man that was hit by a van while riding his bicycle Thursday night has died.

The incident happened just after 9 p.m. near Broadway Street and Grand Avenue.

Police say the driver told them the cyclist pulled out of a parking lot and the driver didn’t have time to stop. The man on the bike died at the hospital.

Officers say there were no lights on the bicycle.

The driver of the van wasn’t injured and police do not believe the driver had been drinking.
