MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) - Indiana State Excise Police officers were patrolling Ball State University’s campus this weekend and made 21 arrests, also citing one business.
Officers arrested 21 people on 34 charges, 17 of which were minors who were arrested for illegal possession of alcohol, minor transporting alcohol, operating while intoxicated, possession of false ID, minor in tavern, open container violation and various traffic offenses.
Four adults were also arrested for furnishing alcohol to minors and for various traffic violations.
Police cited BMW, a bar located at 206 E. Willard St., for operating on an expired permit. The business was also preliminarily charged with purchasing alcohol from other than a wholesaler and possession of liquor on a beer and wine permit.
Officers say a report will be filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Commission about the Alcoholic Beverage Code violations.
Excise officers patrolling West Lafayette Friday night arrested 21 people, 19 of which were minors for illegal possession or consumption of alcohol.
Most of the minors were cited at an underage drinking party east of Purdue University's campus. Fourteen were arrested at the Halloween party on Littleton Street.
Officers also cited two adults for aiding or inducing a minor to possess alcohol.
