MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) - A Muncie man charged with allegedly operating a dog fighting training facility is due in court Wednesday.
36-year-old Rahsaan Johnson faces a total of 43 counts including charges of possessing an animal used in an animal fighting contest, promoting an animal fighting contest and cruelty to an animal.
In late March, Muncie Police were called to a home on Muncie's north side on a report of animal abuse.
Six dogs showing signs of neglect and abuse were found in the backyard. A search of the mobile home and detached garage revealed several more dogs kept in crates.
In all 25 pit bull dogs were removed from the property. Police say they also found equipment and supplies consistent with training dogs to fight.
Wednesday's hearing has been set for 9 am in Delaware Circuit Court 1.
Johnson's bail has been set at $251,000.
