Double murder trial delayed

KOKOMO, Ind. (AP) - A man charged with a Kokomo shooting spree that left two people dead and two others wounded has won a delay in his murder trial.
Thirty-seven-year-old Turama Stitts of Kokomo had been scheduled to go on trial in late January, but a Howard Superior Court judge on Tuesday approved his attorneys request for a continuance. Stitts' trial is now scheduled to begin April 16.
The Kokomo Tribune reports that Stitts is accused of shooting four people in the head in what police call a "random act of violence."
The January 2012 shootings killed 64-year-old David Gibson and 48-year-old Argena Williams and wounded two others.
Prosecutors are seeking life in prison without the possibility of parole.
