KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) - The body of fallen Marine Sergeant Bradley Atwell returned home to Kokomo Friday.

After landing at Grissom Air Reserve Base, Atwell's body passed by those who were present to show their respects.

More than 150 Miami Correctional Facility staff and family lined U.S. 31 to pay their respects to the soldier who was killed in action in Afghanistan on Sept. 15.

The facility’s honor guard presented the colors and saluted Atwell, 27, as he passed through Kokomo and by Taylor High School, where Atwell is a graduate.

Sergeant Atwell grew up in the Kokomo area.

His funeral is Saturday.
