GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A Kokomo man died Tuesday morning in a crash along State Road 22 in Grant County, Indiana State Police officials said.

The crash happened around 10:43 a.m. on State Road 22, near the town of Swayzee.

ISP officials said Nicholas Loffredo, 65, of Kokomo, was westbound on State Road 22 in a 2008 GMC Sierra pickup truck when he crossed the center line. An eastbound dump truck drove into the south ditch to try to avoid the oncoming pickup, but the pickup still hit the dump truck.

Investigators believe Loffredo may have suffered a medical issue that caused him to cross the center line. It wasn’t immediately clear if he died from the crash or from a medical issue. Loffredo wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

The dump truck driver wasn’t injured.
