ALEXANDRIA, Ind. (WISH) - A fundraiser was held Sunday in Alexandria to benefit two horses that were shot Wednesday in Anderson. One horse is now in serious condition. The other horse was killed.

A neighbor discovered the horses Wednesday in their pasture in the 1500 block of West 60th Street.

Anderson Police Detective Joel Sandefur said the horses were wounded by a handgun and a shotgun and had been shot multiple times.

Sonny, is in serious condition at Purdue University Animal Hospital. Lucy was killed.

The fundraiser Sunday was a horse and Harley ride at the Moonsville Conservation Club in Alexandria. Money raised at the event will go to Sonny’s account for medical expenses.

Nearly 50 horses and 25 motorcyclists attended the event.
