Germanfest clebrates church's history

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - If you enjoy some good German food, you were in luck Saturday night. St. Boniface church in Lafayette held its 7th annual Germanfest
The festival included great food, music, and a $10,000 raffle, our sister station WLFI reports. Father Tim, the pastor of St. Boniface, said not only is the festival great fun, but a perfect way to celebrate the church's history.
"Originally, our parish was a German parish," said Father Tim. "German immigrants came here, so every year, this gives us a chance to celebrate our roots as well."
Germanfest took place from 4:30 Saturday afternoon until 11:00 Saturday evening. Admission to Germanfest was free and the money raised from food and drink sales and raffle tickets, will benefit restoration projects at St. Boniface.
