BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Anti-smoking advocates in Boone County say last year’s statewide smoking ban does not go far enough.
The group Smoke Free Boone County has kicked off a campaign to gain support for a new ban.
The head of the group, Angie Dickerson, says she wants a smoking law similar to that of Zionsville that makes no exemptions for smoking inside bars, restaurants and private clubs.
“Right now we’re just building the coalition and seeing what the community desires at this point. We see the next four to six months to be very busy, but I am not sure anything will be presented to the commissioners.”
24-Hour News 8 reached out to the county commission for comment. A representative said since they have not seen the proposal they are not able to give an opinion.
