WARREN COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A man finds his wife dead in a creek Saturday morning, after she doesn't return home from work Friday evening.
Warren County Deputies said 50-year-old Wynnette Werkheiser of Rossville, Illinois, left her job in Lafayette around 11:00 Friday evening. Deputies said when her husband woke up Saturday morning and noticed she was not home, he went looking for her.
According to deputies, Werkheiser's husband found her car in a creek, and called 911.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Department said they responded to the call on County Road 300 North near County Road 1100 West around 8:45 Saturday morning.
Deputies said the 1996 Chrysler Concorde, driven by Werkheiser, left the road for an unknown reason and landed on its top in a creek. Werkheiser was pronounced dead at the scene.
Warren County EMS, Warren County Rescue, the West Lebanon Fire Department, and the Warren County Coroner’s Office responded to the accident.
