KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) - A 13-year-old boy has been charged with animal cruelty after he allegedly killed two family dogs.
Kokomo police say they detained the boy after learning that he killed a puppy and an adult dog at the family’s residence. Police aren’t sure how or why the juvenile killed the animals but they say it appears that both dogs had broken necks.
After his arrest, the boy was turned over to juvenile authorities at the Kinsey Youth Center.
If convicted as an adult on the Class D felony charge of cruelty to animals, the boy could face up to three years in prison.
